Capri island
Our contemporary, poet and translator of the ancient classics, Maxim Amelin, wrote of Capri thus: "When the Lord was driving the forebears of mankind from the heavenly paradise to earth, it is said that Adam, awkwardly crossing the threshold, stumbled and almost fell down. At that, several lumps of fertile soil of different sizes, evenly increasing, flew down and fell in different places. Almost an eternity has passed since then, but shards of paradise still exist in some parts of the world, and one of them is the island of Capri.
